How FlyDown makes money

In short

• FlyDown is free and does not sell tickets: flights are booked on the airline's own website, at the same price you would see if you went there yourself.
• There is no advertising, there are no tracking cookies and we do not sell your data to anyone.
• Some services that are useful at your destination (eSIM, transfer, museum tickets, car hire, luggage storage, insurance) are affiliate links: if you book through them, FlyDown receives a small commission from the partner, at no extra cost to you.
• The paid Pro and Unlimited plans will arrive in the future, with more active watches. The Basic plan stays free.

1. Where the money comes from

Today FlyDown has no revenue and its costs are minimal: the domain, the email account and a small server. Two sources of revenue are planned, and we declare both of them here.

• Affiliate links to services at your destination. These are the "For your trip to …" boxes you find in a flight's details and on some public pages. If you book with that partner, they pay FlyDown a percentage. You pay the partner's price, no more and no less.
• Pro and Unlimited subscriptions, once they are available: they only serve to give you more watches active at a time. They do not change the deals we show you.

2. What we do not do

• We do not put the deals that earn us money at the top. The order depends only on the price and on the rules of your watch.
• We do not sell flights and we do not earn anything on plane tickets. The "Book" button takes you to the airline's website, with no commission added by us.
• No advertising and no banners: nobody pays to appear inside FlyDown.
• No data sold. To the airlines we show overall figures at most, never data relating to an individual.
• No services invented just to fill space: we suggest a few things, the ones you really need when you land.

3. How to recognise an affiliate link

Every box with services at your destination carries the words "affiliate link", which lead to this page. In the page's code the links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, as search engines require.

The links are created by our server: no partner script runs in your browser and FlyDown does not set any cookie for this. When you tap the link you leave FlyDown, and from that moment the partner's privacy notice applies; the partner may use its own cookies to recognise the booking.

We count how many times a box is opened, as we do for the other buttons: these are overall figures, described in the privacy notice.

4. Who we work with

The partners come through the Travelpayouts affiliate network. Today they are: Saily (eSIM), Kiwitaxi (airport transfer), Radical Storage (luggage storage), Tiqets (museums and attractions), AutoEurope (car hire) and EKTA (travel insurance). The list may change: if a service turns out not to be useful, we remove it.

FlyDown is not affiliated with or endorsed by the airlines or by FlixBus, unless stated otherwise: their names and logos are there only to tell you whose flight or journey it is.

5. Why we are telling you

Because it is the right thing to do and because the law requires it: advertising must be recognisable (in Italy the AGCM, the competition and market authority, insists on this; in the European Union it is the unfair commercial practices directive).
